Keyword Rank Checker
Enter any domain to check its keyword rankings. What Is the Keyword Rank Checker?
Semrush’s Keyword Rank Checker is a free SEO tool that lets you see what search terms a website appears for in Google’s organic results. And the position for each of those keywords.
Use it to check your own rankings. And see where there’s room for improvement.
Or, analyze competitors’ websites. To discover keywords you may be missing out on.
After all, ranking prominently for relevant keywords is one of the best ways to drive quality traffic to your site.
How to Use the Keyword Rank Checker
To use the Keyword Rank Checker tool, go to the top of this page.
Enter the domain you want to analyze and click “Check Keywords.”
After signing in to or creating your free Semrush account, head to the “Positions” report to check all the website’s keyword rankings.
The numbers in the “Position” column show the domain’s highest organic ranking for each keyword. As of the most recent update.
If you see an icon, that means the site occupies a SERP feature (a non-standard search result). These features can grab users’ attention, so they tend to be desirable.
You’ll also find lots of other useful keyword metrics, including:
- Intent: The general purpose behind the search. Which can be transactional, commercial, navigational, and/or informational.
- Traffic: The estimated number of monthly visits the search term drives to the analyzed domain.
- Volume: The keyword search volume, meaning the average number of monthly searches the term gets.
- KD %: The keyword difficulty score, which measures how hard it is to rank highly on a scale of 100.
- URL: The webpage that’s ranking for the keyword.
How to Check SEO Ranking Changes
In the “Position Changes” report, you can check for movements in a website’s keyword rankings.
This can provide valuable insight into your rivals’ SEO strategies. And help you understand the effects of any Google updates.
In the report, scroll down to select the time range you’re interested in to compare the domain’s previous and current positions for each keyword. And the differences between them.
The “Changes on SERP” column shows whether Google has added or removed any SERP features.
If there’s a significant change in the results that appear for a given term, you may need to adjust your keyword targeting strategy.
